Cindy O'Hora

O'Hora is the chairperson of the Computer Committee at
Conestoga Elementary School. She has been working with parents and teachers
to build the technology program at the school for the past four and one
half years. She currently serves as the school's webmaster. She has served
as the Vice President and President of the school's Parent Teacher
Organization. Cindy also designed, planted, and maintains the school's
habitat garden. She was nominated for the Jefferson Award for Excellence in
Public Service. Her technology efforts were recognized last year by the
school district.In addition, Cindy has created and updates weekly Macintosh Tips and Tutorials a Web site dedicated to helping newer users and educators get the most from their Macintosh computers. She is the Vice President of Lancaster County Apple Corps (the local Macintosh user group). She is a correspondent with the User Group Network. She writes software reviews and computer tips which are published there. Cindy graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Nursing in 1976. She worked in the Emergency Department and in Staff Development. She was the first nurse in her hospital to receive certification in emergency department nursing. After sixteen years in nursing, Cindy became a Head Nurse and Department Manager. She taught nursing continuing education courses and has been a proactive patient educator. |
