near Boston in the '60s, Jan enjoyed ice skating
and skiing, and took a special interest in science and math at
Chelmsford High School. She could never have foreseen her future
life in rural South Texas as an English teacher, married to a
guidance counselor and part-time farmer/rancher. Over the past
21 years, Jan has taught a variety of subjects, from journalism
and speech to math and technology courses; she also works as an
educational technology consultant, traveling during the summer to
conduct multimedia workshops. She greatly enjoys teaching,
especially when using technology to facilitate learning, and
finds that each year brings exciting changes that
keep her job challenging and fascinating.
