After you have a box made on your Inspiration, you can modify the appearance of it. Go to "Effect" and if you click and hold you will see a variety of things you can do to your box. If there is an arrow to the right of the heading ... as in "line thickness" ... that means there are even MORE options to look at. When you find an effect you like, drag your mouse over the heading and click. You need to make sure the box you want to modify has handlebars (the little read boxes on each corner) before you make modifications or it won't work.

Once you have created a "link" between to boxes, you can modify how you want that link to look. Go to "Link" in the menu - click ... and you will see a variety of options ... once again, if there is an arrow to the right of the heading that means there are even MORE options for you to choose. Also remember to make sure that the link line has handlebars before you try to make modifications - or your changes won't work.

These icons will allow you to "free draw" - just like in any word processing document ... the box with the "A" in it allow you to make a text box.

These icons allow you to move the topic boxes in "pixels" rather than by grid boxes. They are great to use when you want to move a box just a little or a nudge; simply click on the icon you want (make sure the box you want to move has handlebars ) until the box moves to where you want it.

You can change the size of how your page appears on the monitor by clicking on the 100 and choosing a % or you can click on the "mountains" to make the screen zoom in and out.

(this is a graphic representation of symbols that allow you to set default attributes for new symbols and links) The icons are explained in the boxes around this graphic.

The last three icons allow you to quickly change the "fill," "line," and "text" color in a box. Make sure to have handlebars and just click.
