Jim Bowman
 
Jim Bowman Jim Bowman is a math teacher and chairman of the mathematics department at Topeka West High School. He has been teaching there for seventeen years and previously taught for fourteen years at the junior high level in Topeka. In addition, Jim is an adjunct instructor in the School of Business at Washburn University. He has been using computers in the classroom since the late seventies when the district bought its first Apple II Plus. Jim has been a driving force in the move to the use of graphing calculators as an instructional tool in all mathematics classes at Topeka West.
 
Jim received his BS in 1966 and his MA in 1981 from the University of Kansas. He was the Northeast Kansas Teachers of Mathematics high school teacher for 1990 and has been nominated for both the Tandy and Presidential mathematics teacher awards.
