To obtain a customized checklist that you can print out and give to your students, first click in the boxes next to the appropriate items. To add your own item to a category, check the box next to "add own" and then fill in the adjacent text window. For items with an "add own" box in the middle of a sentence, you must fill in something in the text box and check the checkbox. When you have chosen the appropriate items, please click the "submit" button. The page you will see can then be printed by choosing "print" from the file menu above. To change the orientation or magnification of the page to be printed, go to the file menu and choose the "Page setup" option.

I made a list of where I got my information.

If I used someone else's words (a quote), I told who said it.

I said things in my own words.

I was able to answer questions from my class.

I told my topic to everyone at the beginning.

I had a clear introduction.

I told the main points I would talk about, then explained each one.

I told what happened first, second, and third.

I told how to with steps one, two, and three.

I talked about the most important thing I learned.

I used words like: "first", "second", "then", and "last" so my class understood my topic.

I told my main ideas again at the end.

At the end, I told my opinion, or told why my topic was special to me.

My class knew when I was done.

I used art, graphs, or posters to show information.

My art, graph or poster helped the class understand me.

I explained my art, graph or poster.

My art was creative.

Words in my art, graph, or poster were spelled right.

My art, graph or poster was easy to read or see.

I used music or sound to show information.

The music or sound was easy to hear, but not too loud.

I looked at my classmates, not at the floor.

I talked to everyone, not just one or two friends.

I spoke clearly. I didn't mumble.

I did not talk too fast.

My voice was easy to hear.

I stood up straight.

My voice showed I was interested, not bored.

I used my hands, face, and eyes to communicate.

I smiled.

I looked at my note card, but I did not read from it.

I used standard grammar.

I didn't use empty words (uhm, uh, ah, mm, like).

I didn't apologize for making a mistake.

I didn't fidget, rock back and forth, or pace.

I didn't forget what I was saying.
