What do teachers need to know about computers?

The answer may surprise you.

By Dr. Jerry Chaffin
SCR*TEC

This week, we asked the SCR*TEC Project Director, Jerry Chaffin, to be a guest commentator. We asked him: What are the essential computer skills needed by teachers to successfully integrate technology into their instruction?

Jerry puzzled over this for a few days, and came up with a short but interesting response with slides and audio. Listen to it, or, if you have a slower connection, read the text-only version.

Real Audio presentation or Text-only presentation
Note: Dr. Chaffin's Real Audio audio/slide presentation requires Netscape Navigator 2.0 or newer (or Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.0 or newer) and at least a 28.8k modem (faster connections will work, too). You may download the Real Audio Player free of charge from Progressive Networks.
